November starts this Sunday and Daylight Savings Time ends. It's the beginning of a new month and the activities begin at our monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 4th.
The doors of the Clermont Firehouse on Rt. 9G will open by 11am and soon after that, the aroma of Roasted Turkey will fill the room. November marks the celebration of Thanksgiving and we celebrate with a special meal. Members will be bringing lots of side dishes to go with the turkey provided by the club. Besides, the sides, members are asked to bring desserts and drinks. And of course, guests are welcome (cost: $5).
Our meeting starts about noon and will include Election of Officers. We'll also be selling tickets for our annual Christmas Dinner to be held on December 6th. Everyone is welcome ($22 members; $25 non-members). See Betty for tickets.
JoAnn will be reporting on our last trip for 2015 - "Home for the Holiday" on November 18th. Bus pick-up will be at 8am in Clermont and 8:15am in Red Hook. This special holiday trip will take us to the Brownstone in NJ and will include music, supper & entertainment. Cost: $89. It's sure to get us in the holiday spirit. Contact JoAnn at 845-756-2960 for reservations.
Three other special days happen in November: Tuesday, November 3th is Election Day - so be sure to Vote. Polls in NY are open from 6am to 9pm. Every vote counts - so be sure to be counted. Wednesday, November 11th is Veteran's Day. If you're a Veteran, thank you for your service. If you know a Veteran, be sure to let them know how thankful we are for their service. It's the perfect month to be thankful for our Veterans and all our blessings. And of course there's Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, the 26th. Wishing you all have a very happy, healthy and safe thanksgiving. Hope you'll be spending it with your family and friends. (And let's hope the weather stays as nice as it is now!!)
"We're making wonderful memories - so join us." Looking forward to seeing you all!!
